On September 11 at SofiaLab, Atty. Yanka Kosarova from the Foundation for Access to Rights – FAR conducted a training session for third-country nationals working in Sofia’s public transport with a Single Residence and Work Permit (Single Permit).

The topics were practical: what rights the Single Permit grants and its limitations, employment contracts, working hours, sick leave, registering with a primary care physician, and next steps after the permit – long-term residence, family reunification, and citizenship.

The group was diverse – people who have been working in Bulgaria for 1–2 years, as well as those who arrived just a couple of months ago. During the session, our colleague Zahid Mavlyanov, a sworn translator, provided consecutive translation into Uzbek for the entire training. Participants were able to ask questions freely in their native language and receive immediate answers – making all the difference between "just attending" and "truly understanding."

We express our gratitude to the Bureau for Integration and Social Innovation for the organization and invitation. The training is part of the CONSOLIDATE project, funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union.
